Fucking Genius

Mucking up a perfectly good design to stop it doing what it's suposed to do and charging money for it. Judging from what history has taught us, these things should sell like hotcakes.

The MagStay Pro is a little plastic clip that holds in your MagSafe power connector on a 15" or 17" MacBook Pro. Basically, it's a retainer that plugs into the USB port next to the MagSafe to keep it from being disconnected.

Is MagSafe a good design?

Yes, it is.

To answer your implicit question, MagSafe is a good design because it addresses an issue with previous models, namely what happens when somebody trips over the power chord. Before MagSafe, that was an event which did not occur often, but with catastrophic consequences. Now, the worst thing that can happen is disconnecting the power source. If that now happens more often, it is still a sound trade-off because the consequences are far less grave, being at worst a laptop shutting down.
